Victory at Daytona Milton Keynes

5/11/2023

During the recent half term, I entered a Daytona junior sprint race in Milton Keynes and what a race it was!

It was a rainy morning and on a damp track for qualifying,  I had to learn the wet lines.  At the end of quali, I was P1 for the race by four seconds!

We lined up on the grid for the start and waited for the five red lights to disappear. My start wasn't the best as I had compromised the outside line into the first corner which had more grip but I just managed to hold on to my position going into turn one.   After this tense start, the race settled down and it was a fairly quiet one, as I was gapping second place by four seconds every lap!

Before I knew it, I crossed the line in P1 after a solid drive and almost sixty five seconds in front of second place. Can't wait to return for another soon!
