Awesome test day with my team Cursley Motorsport at Snetterton circuit yesterday and my first opportunity to get behind the wheel of Big G (thank you Alex for the sticker...that means a lot!)
Lots to learn ahead of a fast approaching JSCC round 1 at Donington but with some fantastic coaching from Ash Miller and the support of the whole team, we made really solid progress through the day. It was great to spend some quality time with everyone in a relaxed testing environment and get to know each other better and how things typically run in the pit lane and paddock. It was also lovely catching up with some of the guys and their families that I met at the recent JSCC scholarship and also meet my teammates from the Coupe cup and UK Kart series. This was literally the best day ever in my racing journey so far!
On the drive up to Curborough, I was bricking it! My first time in a race prepped car ahead of my ARDS test and the JSCC scholarship next month. Over the course of the day, I was in the car for six or seven 15-20 minute stints... We lost count as I was having so much fun! Harry was an awesome instructor! We built up the pace steadily through the day as my confidence grew. I ran with the PAS off to give me a better feel of the car. I did have one 'moment' but I managed to hold it and keep it off the grass! Overall though, I don't think I gave Harry any brown race suit moments! It was also really cool to catch up with my mate Jamie, who came along to take some photos. Massive massive thanks to Harry & Mike from MPH/Karts2cars. You guys are legends!
