Team Luna Rose Sim Racing and my first officially recognised sim endurance race event. We were up against a field of many internationally renowned sim racing teams, drivers and successful circuit racers.
We had no expectations other than wanting to complete the race, enjoy it and learn. Not coming last would be good too! We lined up in the GT3 category as one of 30 teams, with another 22 teams on track running GT4s. The professional teams had race engineers/strategists & dedicated spotters. We were managing it all ourselves! P27 in Quali (my fault, pushed a bit too hard when on for P20'ish pace) but plenty of time to make inroads. 6hrs: ↑ P25 11hrs: ↓ P27 - We'd all had a few moments! 16hrs: ↑ P21 - A combination of retirements and our consistently decent pace. 19hrs: ↓ P25 - After a very very long stop in the pits. We were the last of the GT3 cars still running and 17-18 laps behind to P24, equivilant to 35 mins at race pace. 21hrs: P25 but had taken a couple of laps out of P24. Now 15 laps behind. At this point we wanted rain but it didn't come! - 24hrs: P25 out of a grid of 30 but the last of the running GT3s. We took a couple of more laps out of P24, finishing 13 laps behind them and 48 laps behind the winners. We completed it! - 24hrs of racing with minimal penalties & only minor damage though the race. Despite some frustrations, it was mega fun, a huge learning curve and everyone put in solid stints. The Mustang livery looked so cool too! A huge thanks to Kenny & Tom from Luna Rose Racing for the opportunity. #britcar #simracing #endurance #24hours #silverstone
