 It's race week! - JSCC Round 6
This weekend, we're heading to Oulton Park in Cheshire for round six of the Junior Saloon Car Championship. We're racing on the Island layout and at just over 2.2 miles in length, it's another new and technical circuit for me to learn on the Friday practice day. Our provisional weekend timings :- Saturday 5th July ----------------- Qualifying - 10:20 (Not streamed) Race 1 - 13:55 Race 2 - 17:10 The races are streamed live on the BARC Youtube page. We'll post the live stream links on my Instagram & Facebook stories each race day morning. After my best overall results at Croft, I'm keen to keep up the momentum. Let's see what we can do! Race report - JSCC Round 5 - Croft
Friday practice with Ash was good. Big G was getting hot and was down on power for the last few laps of the first session but Alex sorted the issue. Qualifying : I had decent pace but struggled to get much of a tow, so I was a few tenths off the mid pack and qualified P10 / P10 / P9. Race 1 : P10>P8 An epic battle with Leon! I was all over the back of him trying to find the gap to make a move. Almost got it done on the home straight with a few laps to go but he defended well and I came home P8. It was good to see Martin was okay after his car caught fire at the end of the race. Race 2 : P10 > P9 A great battle with Joe. Got close a couple of times but didn't get the move done. I probably should have been a bit more aggressive. A great race but had to settle for P9. Before race 3, I was awarded driver of the meeting for the last round at Silverstone, which was cool. Race 3 : P9 > P7 Lost a place at the start as I was forced onto the grass but managed to get it back and then chased after Leon for a few laps before getting the move done at the hairpin. Managed to catch up to Joe and put him under pressure but he defended well and held on to the place, so I finished P8 on the road but got promoted to P7 after a post race track limits penalty. Huge thanks to the team for giving me a solid and reliable car and for everything else they do for us. It's always great to share the awning with Tom, my unofficial team mate and all of his family. Great also to spend some more time with my new team mate @benward_racing_uk and his dad, Nick. Thank you to my driver coach @_ashmiller for everything during Friday testing. Special thanks too to @28lucastaccini_racing who came along to support us. Never a dull moment when he's around! This weekend, we're heading to Croft circuit for round five of the Junior Saloon Car Championship. At just over 2.1 miles in length, it's another new and highly technical circuit for me to learn on the Friday practice day. After a consistent performance at Silverstone, I'm keen to push further into the top ten. Let's see what we can do! The races (not practice or quali) are streamed live on the BARC Youtube page. We'll post the live stream links for each day on my Instagram & Facebook stories each race day morning.
