A dry’ish track for a change this season but those out on the pre-event practice round soon discovered that turn one was greasy! Today was a cup format round with sessions of 15 minute practice, immediately followed by 5 minute qualifying. I was in the first group to go out and my practice session was solid and that form carried on into quali with me placing P2, some three tenths behind. Once the second practice and quali session finished, I found out that I was placed P3 on the grid for the A final. My best placing so far this season! Just before the start of the A final, some light rain was falling. At the start. I held my position and managed to avoid the first lap pileup in turn 2. I maintained my position for a couple more laps before grabbing P2. It only lasted for one lap though, as going into turn 10, I spun trying to pass on the inside, dropping back to 5th with around an 8 second gap to 4th. The rain cleared and I just got my head down. Zayn was clear in P1 but Tom, Harry & Theo were all battling hard for the remaining podium spots. After six more laps, I’d narrowed the gap and joined the pack. I passed both Harry and Theo to grab P3 but there was nothing to separate the four of us. On the final lap, Harry was trying to overtake both Tom & I on the grass but as Tom defended against Harry, I was able to slip by on the inside line and take P2. This was a great race against some great drivers. P2 is my best finish so far this season and just shows, never give up! Huge thanks and well done to everyone who made it exciting! On to R6 in a couple of weeks. Thank you to my family, my sponsors, Camuri Ltd & The MGroup and everyone who supports me through Sponsor Driven. . . . . #kartinguk #karting #racinglife #racing #nevergiveup
